While the Port of Felixstowe itself actually contributes less than 1% of the total carbon embedded in goods through the supply chain, we are committed to making significant progress in reducing this, as well as the impact of the overall supply chain.
Our sheer scale enables immediate carbon economies to be made, whilst our investment in more carbon efficient, lower energy technologies places us at the forefront of emerging container port environmental practices.

The Port of Felixstowe is also helping improve the carbon footprint of the industry as a whole through investment in low carbon rail and feeder networks. Our new North Rail Terminal will increase capacity by a further 25%, providing customers with further departure times and destination options and helping us to reduce the carbon footprint of many of our shipping lines and other customers still further.
